Description
This maritime painting by P. Derek Taylor, titled Heading Home, is executed in watercolor with gouache highlights on textured paper. The composition features a three-masted clipper ship under full sail navigating through choppy green and deep blue waters. The artist has used opaque gouache to define the white foam of the waves and the highlights on the sails. The sky is rendered in a bright blue with diagonal, wispy cloud formations. The signature P. Derek Taylor is visible in the lower right corner. The painting is presented in an off-white mat.
