Description
A collection of nineteen assorted vintage costume jewelry brooches and pins featuring a variety of motifs and materials characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century design. The assembly includes botanical themes such as a large silver-tone foliate branch, a gold-tone branch set with faux pearls, two wreath-style brooches (one with clear rhinestones and one with pearls), and several floral sprigs accented with multi-colored glass rhinestones. Nautical designs are represented by two gold-tone anchors featuring navy blue enamel inlay and rope detailing. Figurative and decorative pieces include a Victorian-style hand brooch with a blue rhinestone ring, a butterfly set with multi-colored stones, a Damascene-style bird brooch with floral inlay, and a small oval portrait brooch depicting a landscape scene. Abstract and geometric forms include a mixed-metal knot, a textured oval with a central amber-colored cabochon, and a silver-tone spiral disc with black enamel.
