Lot 207:
Description
This lot consists of two polychrome painted figurines executed in a sentimental, rustic style characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century Italian decorative arts, frequently attributed to workshops such as those of Tiziano Galli or Florence Sculpture d Arte in the Capodimonte tradition. The first figurine is a group study depicting three barefoot boys positioned around a gnarled tree stump. One boy is seated in the upper branches whittling a stick, while another sits on the ground playing a flute-like instrument, and a third leans against the base. A small frying pan is modeled on the textured ground at the foot of the tree. The base is finished with a stylized rococo-style scroll at the front. The second figurine depicts a single barefoot boy wearing a floppy hat and a satchel slung over his shoulder, seated on a stump while holding a rifle with the butt resting on the ground. Both pieces are constructed from a matte-finished ceramic or resin-based composite with detailed polychrome application. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces of either piece.
Condition report:
Both figurines appear to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or professional repairs. There is minor surface dust and light wear consistent with age and previous display.
