Lot 208:
Description
This glazed ceramic figurine is modeled after the Royal Doulton Autumn Breezes pattern. The figure is depicted in 18th-century style attire, featuring a deep maroon gown, a pink pleated stomacher, and a white muff with black accents. She wears a wide-brimmed yellow hat adorned with a lavender plume and a blue ribbon at the neck. The piece is hand-decorated with a glossy glaze. The unglazed base contains handwritten inscriptions in black ink: HAND PAINTED, C.M. GUNN, and APRIL 1940. The absence of factory backstamps indicates this is a hobbyist-painted piece or a studio production using a purchased ceramic blank.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good vintage condition. A small chip is present on the rear unglazed foot of the base. There are no observed cracks, significant glaze losses, or repairs. Minor surface wear is present, consistent with age and display.
