Description
This Omega brand spirit iron, manufactured in Germany circa 1910, is constructed with a nickel-plated metallic body and a carved wooden handle. The side of the iron features a series of circular indentations. A cylindrical fuel tank is mounted to the rear, connected to the main body via a metal pipe assembly that includes a red adjustment knob. The fuel tank cap is incised with the manufacturer name OMEGA. This type of iron was designed to be heated internally using spirits or gasoline.
Condition report:
The item shows visible surface oxidation and pitting across the metal components. The wooden handle exhibits wear and loss to the yellowish-orange finish. The red adjustment knob and fuel tank cap remain present.
