Lot 4:
Description
This collection of late 19th and early 20th century personal accessories includes a pair of spectacles, two portrait pendants, and a ladies wristwatch. The rimless spectacles feature a yellow metal bridge and flexible ear wires with an attached safety chain. They are housed in a black ribbed hard case marked Payne & Son Opticians Wallingford in gold lettering. The assortment includes two portrait lockets: one oval-shaped frame containing a sepia-toned photograph of a man, and one circular double-sided swivel pendant containing sepia-toned photographs of a man and a young child. The ladies wristwatch features a yellow metal case and a matching mesh bracelet with a ladder-style clasp. The textured champagne dial is designed with a darker peripheral ring and Arabic numeral hour markers. The brand on the dial is illegible. The movement is likely manual wind. No box or papers are present.
Case size: 22mm.
Condition report:
The spectacles appear to be in intact condition, while the case exhibits minor exterior wear consistent with age. Both lockets show surface wear, patina, and typical fading to the interior photographs. The wristwatch shows significant wear and patina to the rolled gold finish, with scratches present on the crystal and discoloration on the dial. The movement has not been tested and working order is not guaranteed.
