Description
This hand-carved jade Rat figurine is depicted crouching atop an auspicious fruit form. The creature is shown in restful pose with its tail swept upward , displaying the delicate openwork and polished finish typical of late 18th to 19th century lapidary work .
Length: Approximately 6-8 cm
Condition report:
The figurine is in overall good condition with natural white cloud inclusions and small dark flecks inherent to the stone. There is a very tiny chip on the top back of the figure. Minor surface wear and small abrasions consistent with age are present on the carved edges.
