Description
This collection consists of 17 assorted costume jewelry brooches and broches featuring a variety of 20th-century styles and materials. The assortment includes figural, floral, and geometric designs. Figural pieces include a gold-tone eagle with black enamel, a silver-tone owl perched on a crescent moon set with clear rhinestones, a miniature printed Mona Lisa portrait under a clear cabochon, a heart and arrow motif pavé-set with multi-colored rhinestones, and a two-tone ribbon bow. Floral and nature-inspired designs feature a blue and green enameled lily, a pink and clear rhinestone flower, a large gold-tone crescent set with pink teardrop cabochons and aurora borealis (AB) rhinestones, and a textured sunburst wreath. Decorative and geometric pieces include a silver-tone filigree snowflake with clear rhinestones, an oval brooch with iridescent abalone shell inlay, a salmon-colored molded resin centerpiece in the style of carved cinnabar, an opaline-effect resin cabochon with a beaded border, a faceted dark red glass cabochon in an ornate dark metal frame, a cream-colored cabochon in an openwork setting, an abstract cluster of AB rhinestones, and a rectangular lozenge-shaped pin encrusted with clear rhinestones. Pin-back mechanisms are present on the reverse but specific latch types are not visible.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. One peripheral stone may be missing from the pink rhinestone flower brooch. All other settings appear intact upon visual inspection.
