Description
A collection of twenty costume brooches and pins featuring various motifs and materials. The assortment includes floral and botanical designs such as a red and gold-tone enameled hibiscus, multiple silver-tone floral sprays, a gold-tone branch set with blue and clear stones, a silver-tone tree-form brooch with multi-colored pastel rhinestones, and an oval brooch with a floral bouquet on a white ground. Animal and insect motifs include two butterfly pins set with clear rhinestones and a black and gold-tone silhouette pin depicting a person walking a dog. Sporting and geometric designs consist of two gold-tone tennis racquet pins, a large textured gold-tone knot brooch, a circular wreath pin with clear rhinestones, a heart-shaped rhinestone pin, a circular brooch with a textured center depicting classical figures, and a square silver-tone brooch with a central floral relief. Condition report:
The collection is in overall good condition. All stones appear to be present upon visual inspection. There is minor surface wear and oxidation to the metal finishes consistent with age and use. The oval floral brooch shows slight discoloration to the white ground.
