Lot 215:
Description
A large wall-hanging cross executed in the Brutalist style, dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The piece is constructed from a silver-toned metal featuring a heavy reticulated and organic texture with an openwork design. The form is characterized by irregular edges and a molten surface quality. A raised circular boss is positioned at the center of the cross. The reverse side is finished with a similar texture and includes an integrated hanging loop at the top arm. A small rectangular recessed mark is visible on the bottom reverse edge, which contains characters resembling 925, though the texture of the metal prevents definitive confirmation of silver fineness. No maker marks or signatures are present.
Height: Approximately 14 cm.
Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition. It retains an original aged patina with significant tarnish and darkening within the deep recesses of the textured surface. There are no visible cracks, breaks, or signs of repair.
