Description
This collection features a variety of metal vessels including creamers, a mug, and a sugar bowl. The group includes a cylindrical pewter mug with a hand-hammered finish on the body, a scrolled handle, and a small thumb rest. A bulbous pewter sugar bowl is present, featuring a squat, globular form and twin D-shaped handles. The collection also contains a faceted, multi-sided pewter creamer with an elongated spout and a cylindrical cast brass creamer with a distinct angular, squared handle. A trumpet-form cast pewter creamer is included, featuring a flared body and a small rectangular cartouche on the front containing three or four illegible characters. Completing the collection is a tall, slender silver-plated creamer with a high-arching handle and a tapered spout. These items represent various 19th and 20th-century styles and utilize construction techniques such as casting, hammering, and faceted assembly.
Condition report:
The items show varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches and minor indentations. The pewter and brass items exhibit a dull, aged patina and surface oxidation.
