Description
A pair of Chinese style carved boxwood tiger sculptures. Each figure is rendered in a naturalistic style, depicted in a reclining or crouching pose upon an integrated, textured, rocky base. The material is a dark reddish-brown with a polished, high-gloss finish, consistent with carved boxwood or a similar dense hardwood. Anatomical details and stripes are rendered in relief, with one tiger posed with its mouth open in a snarling expression. The craftsmanship reflects a traditional Chinese style of animal carving. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good overall condition. There is minor surface dust accumulation in the recessed areas of the carvings. No visible chips, cracks, or repairs are observed.
